After working for over 15 years with major contractors such as Thiess Contractors, Costain and White Industries, Managing Director Mick Boyle established Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure™ in Sydney in 1994. His focus was to carry out complex civil infrastructure and building construction contracts throughout eastern Australia. Mick established the company when he recognised the public sector in Australia was rapidly reducing and major contractors were taking its place. Abergeldie was established with the aim to be Australia’s premier complex infrastructure construction company.
Abergeldie® established the Queensland office in 2000. In 2001 the Company diversified and took a majority share in innovative shaft sinking company Ardent Underground Pty Ltd. To capitalise on its growing reputation in process engineering, in 2006 Abergeldie linked with John Young (Kelvinhaugh) Pty Ltd and started Abergeldie Young Pty Ltd. In 2007 Abergeldie gained 100% ownership of Ardent Underground Pty Ltd and it was renamed Abergeldie Mining. Later that year the Company's NSW head office was relocated to the Regents Park Estate; a purpose built business park to accommodate future growth.
The group now has offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle and Canberra and is carrying out complex infrastructure projects throughout QLD, NSW and ACT.
The company’s success is attributed to the simple philosophy of safely carrying out good quality work and the ability to undertake complex projects with the systems, procedures, and professionalism of the major contractors but with the individuality and flexibility of a smaller company.
Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure™ is 100% Australian owned and operated and is concerned about supporting regional industry and economies by engaging local subcontractors and suppliers wherever possible. Abergeldie holds fast to its mission statement: to provide the complex infrastructure needed to build a better community.
